WAHI President to Speak at the 2020 WRA Winter Convention

Ric Thompson, President of the Wisconsin Association of Home Inspectors (WAHI), will speak at the Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA) Winter Convention on January 28th at the Lake of the Torches Hotel and Convention Center.  Ric’s presentation, Does Your Home Inspector Follow the State Standards?, will give you a better understanding of the “Law of the Land.”

In Wisconsin, Home Inspectors are regulated by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) and must be DSPS certified (licensed) to practice home inspection for compensation.  As Wisconsin Certified Home Inspectors we must follow the Wisconsin Standards of Practice for Home Inspectors, WI DSPS SPS 131 Subchapter IV, which can be viewed here:

No other standards matter in Wisconsin!  Not ASHI, not NACHI, not InterNACHI, not WISHI, not WASHI, not Willi and certainly not Nilli.  Stop by the WAHI booth to meet Ric and get a copy of the WI Standards of Practice for Home Inspectors.  See you there.

If You See This….. BOLT!

Hot water boilers and water heaters are equipped with a P/TRV (Pressure/Temperature Relief Valve) to protect against catastrophic and explosive failure in the event of overheating and/or over-pressurization. Such a failure can result in serious injury or death. The Bottom Line…. Plugging the P/TRV is a recipe for disaster.
